Double
Take Ranch is proud to announce that we are
now home to the
BRASS.....CLASS
and a little SASS!
In
2003, we
added two very elegant Borzoi puppies to our
canine family and their pictures
and pictures of their Sires and Dams are
featured below.
While
we do not breed our own Borzoi .... we would
be happy to refer you to our friends in
Finland:
Staraja
Russa Borzoi,
or
....
Mechta's
Borzoi, in Northern, CA.
They
are wonderful people and we feel blessed that
they have each shared with us, one of their
treasured girls.
We
have also included some basic and historical information
and photos on this very "classy"
breed. Borzoi are sight hounds. The males
should grow to be at least 28" at the
withers and will weigh in at 75 to 105 lbs.
The females are at least 26" high and
will typically weigh 15 to 20 lbs. less.

The Borzoi was known,
prior to 1936, as the Russian Wolfhound. They
are sight hounds and were originally bred by
the Russian aristocracy for hunting
expeditions and the coursing of wild game,
most notably wolves. Today these classy and
intelligent dogs are just as comfortable on
our couches as they are out in the fields.
