A tribute to
the past that brought us to the present:
The
dog that introduced us to the world of the
Akita was; "Mr. Bear". He was
found roaming the streets with a chain
embedded in his neck. Our Veterinarian
explained to us that he was approximately 18
months old and that he was an Akita. Mr.
Bear was in our lives for just over 11 years
and during that time he was our children's
playmate and guardian, lying in the midst of
Barbie tea parties and remote control car and
truck races, pretending to be one of their
props or just happy to be a part of it all.
He
would sometimes even be dressed up for the occasion
with custom made robes or other ensembles cut
to a perfect fit. While he was the
perfect "Big brother" to our babies,
he was a force to be reckoned with when it
came to our well being. When it came
down to the "nitty gritty", he not
only rose to the occasion but he saved my
life. I will forever be indebted to him
and have been a breed advocate ever since.
"Mr.
Bear"

"Sushima"
The
ultimate mother and Grand-ma, she never
missed a beat.
She made
training look easy with or without a treat.
She LOVED
babies whether they were hers, theirs or
yours.
She
made sure that they all had the highest of aptitude
scores.
She was
brilliant but never bragged.
a better
friend you could not snag.
We love ya
old girl, we'll see you in the next
world.
